If I'm using Facebook and Twitter, why am I using Instagram?

  • Your students are on Instagram
    • They are going to be on it. You might as well share a picture or diagram you talked about in class.
    • Students will be thinking about school while at home on Instagram.
  • It is easy to share your Instagram post to your Twitter and Facebook.
    • You just have to connect those accounts inside the Instagram settings.
    • They each become a one-click share before you post your Instagram photo.
  • Use #WMSCougars so kids can search the feed to find more.

OK, I'll try it.  How does it work?

  • Sign up for an account.
    • I signed up using my Twitter account.
      • This keeps the usernames the same and it is one less login I have to remember.
  • You can take a new photo from your phone or upload an existing photo.
  • You can doctor up the photo with filters.
  • You can type a message.
    • Be sure to use #WMSCougars in your message.
  • If you want to share to Facebook or Twitter you click on those icons before posting your picture to Instagram.

Boomerang and Layout

  • These are two apps you can install to go along with Instagram on your phone.
  • Boomerang allows you to take a 1-second video that plays on a loop and share it to Instagram.
  • Layout is a collage app that lets you take photos from your phone and create collages with many layouts and share those to Instagram.
