I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in 2015.
I have been a teacher for 10 years. I have taught Special Education, Elementary, and Middle School. I have also been a Media Specialist/Technology Integrationist.
My name is Chad Ackerson. I am a 6th grade Science teacher in Grand Island, Nebraska. My beautiful wife, Erin, is a Principal at Elba Public Schools. We have 3 lovely daughters, 10, 8, and 5. We coach the girls' softball teams in the summers. I have a HUGE garden to take up the rest of my summer time. I can spaghetti sauce, salsa, pickles, and anything else we can grow. In my spare time, I troll Twitter looking for techy ideas and tools to bring back to my school and my classroom.
I created Tech Nerd Training as a place to house all of the different technology trainings I developed for staff at school and different conferences that I have presented at. It has evolved into a bank of tutorials that I use in my classroom or are used in my school. I take requests from educators in my district and outside my district. There are many tools I haven't had a chance to use and would love to have a reason to dig into them.
